Self-park A3 is ace of space

Self-park A3 is ace of space

A clever new option on the Audi A3 Cabriolet should make parking a breeze. Not only does the Parallel Parking Assist software inform the driver if a space is suitable, it then manoeuvres the car into it automatically for you.

At speeds of up to 19mph, the A3 can scan a row of parked cars and emit an audible beep when a big enough gap is found. Once one has been selected, the system takes over full steering control of the vehicle, leaving the driver to make any final adjustments after the hands-free manoeuvre has been completed. The electronic aid works with the Driver Information System (DIS) multimedia centre, which is standard on Sport and S line models.

Parking Assist is available now for £725 on these variants, while DIS and the parking system can be added to lower-spec Cabriolets for £925. Prices
for the soft-top A3 range start from £19,995.
